How much money can I set aside each month to increase the number of savings I have on my bank account? I have to admit that personally I do not know the answer to this question, but I guess different people out there are able to set aside different amounts of money each month. For example, there was a time in my life when I was able to easily set aside at least 20% of my monthly income. This definitely allowed me to increase the safety net as much as possible. I was very happy when this was the case. Unfortunately, for some time now I have not been really able to set aside more than 5-10% of my savings. Of course, there are months in my life when I am not even able to set anything aside for obvious reasons. I like it when I can have some money I can put in my savings account as it gives me the feeling of security that i need so much in today’s economy.
